Barbara Seebald ist in der Nacht des 16.06.2015 dahingegangen. Sie hat die letzten Monate nichts mehr gegessen und getrunken und hat offensichtlich keinen Sinn mehr darin gesehen, weiterzuleben. Es gab viele Kräfte, die versucht haben, ihr zu helfen. Danke an Euch alle! Jede/r hat sein und ihr Bestes gegeben und so stehen wir jetzt fassungslos und sprachlos mit ihren fünf Kindern vor ihrem Totenbett.

Ich hoffe sehr, die Medien halten sich zurück und schlachten das ganze nicht aus, in dem Sinne, "Die AIDS Leugnerin Barbara S. ist an AIDS gestorben". Nein, sie ist nicht an AIDS gestorben. Sie ist an einem gebrochenen Herz gestorben.

Bien triste nouvelle en effet que la disparition de Barbara Seebald, qui avait perdu son mari poursuivi par la justice en 2010, et avait essayé de continuer son combat pour ses enfants toute seule, puis a fini par se laisser mourir de désespoir.

Pour mémoire, je viens de découvrir une archive de 2010 en anglais, avec un point de vue très critique sur la criminalisation, par un mèdecin et juriste membre d'une commission de l'Onusida sur le hiv et la Loi, Matthiew Weait, auteur en 2007 du livre Intimacy and responsability, the Criminalisation of HIV Transmission :

Nothing has been more difficult for me then to share this information:

Barbara Seebald passed over to eternity during the night of June 16th, 2015.

The last few months of her life, she didn't eat or drink, surely seeing no real reason to continue on living.

There were many people and outlets, that tried to help her. A special thanks to all of you who did what they could and gave their best. Now we are all standing stunned and silent with her five children at her deathbed.

I dearly hope that the media will respect her passing, and not dramatize and hype this event with headlines such as „The AIDS denialist Barbara S. has died from AIDS“

No, she didn't die from AIDS. She died from a broken heart.
